Cultura Nova - Adventurous singers wanted! BQN1778koenBroos Adventurous singers wanted! Do you love singing and fancy taking part in an adventurous project? On Sunday 6 September, Cultura Nova , in collaboration with theatre maker Elsa van Dijk, will present THE EXPLODING WHALE MUSICAL . A cheerfully dark, slightly absurd parable for everyone aged 8 to 108. THE EXPLODING WHALE MUSICAL tells the story of a future society that believes it conquered the water years ago, but where a whale suddenly washes ashore. A visually striking musical theatre production performed on location around a life-size whale, featuring a local choir. And for this, we're looking for YOU! We're looking for: - adventurous singers who fancy throwing themselves into an absurd universe. - of all ages and backgrounds; you don't need to speak perfect Dutch - if you can speak English, that's fine. It is important, however, that you're on your feet and can remember (simple) dance steps and cues. - who have experience of choral singing and the discipline and ability to learn music independently: you don't need to be able to read music - we'll provide you with recordings. - with a strong singing voice, a good ear for music and an affinity for acting - who are available on the following dates, times to be confirmed: - Saturday 29 August 2026 / rehearsal at Theater Heerlen from 1.00 pm to 5.30 pm - Sunday 6 September 2026 / run-through in the morning and performance at 3.30 pm on location You'll play a supporting role on stage and be coached by professional performers, including: Jonas Van Thielen, Elsa van Dijk and Joeri Cnapelinckx.
