About this role
We are looking for a detailed-oriented and proactive Assistant Manager – Taxation & Accounts Payable to oversee our day-to-day tax compliances (GST & TDS), manage Accounts Payable (AP) workflows, handle tax audits, and lead responses to notices from statutory tax authorities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the NBFC/Financial Services sector, a strong grasp of Indian Direct and Indirect Tax laws, and hands-on expertise with vendor invoice processing and tax reconciliations. Key job responsibilities 1. GST Compliance & Operations • Manage end-to-end GST filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-6/ISD, and GSTR-9/9C). • Perform monthly reconciliations between GSTR-2B/2A and the Purchase Register in the ERP system. • Review invoice accuracy under Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) and ensure timely payment of RCM liabilities. 2. Direct Tax & TDS Compliances • Oversee monthly TDS/TCS calculation, deduction, and payment schedules under the Income Tax Act. • Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns (Form 26Q, 27Q) and ensure timely generation of TDS certificates (Form 16A). • Conduct regular reconciliations of TDS ledger entries with Form 26AS/AIS. • Ensure correct application of lower tax deduction certificates and vendor withholding rates. 3. Accounts Payable (AP) & Vendor Management • Oversee end-to-end AP processing—from invoice verification, 3-way matching, tax taggings (GST & TDS rates), to final payment releases. • Perform periodic vendor ledger reconciliations and resolve supplier billing queries. • Ensure strict adherence to internal financial controls and SOPs for disbursements. 4. Tax Notices, Audits & Assessments • Monitor online income tax and GST portals for notices, intimation, or demand orders. • Draft timely responses, compile supporting documentation, and assist senior management/external consultants in responding to tax notices. • Coordinate and provide data schedules for Statutory Audits, Tax Audits (Form 3CD), GST Audits, and Internal Audits. • Represent the company before tax authorities during scrutiny assessments or audit proceedings alongside external tax advisors.
