Prairie Vision is hiring an Optometric Assistant on a 9?12 month contract, with real potential to convert to a permanent full-time role. You?ll support the team across reception and diagnostic testing, with training provided on everything. No prior optometry experience needed.
*What you?ll do*
* Greet patients and manage check-in, check-out, and payments * Answer phones, emails, and texts, and book appointments * Verify Alberta Health Care and private insurance coverage, and submit claims * Perform initial exam testing (visual acuity, autorefraction, Optomap, OCT, and others ? all trained on the job) * Instill diagnostic drops as directed by the optometrist * Enter patient history and test results accurately in the EMR * Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and ready between patients * Support the team with other tasks and projects as they arise
*What we?re looking for*
* High school diploma or equivalent * Warm, professional manner with patients * Strong attention to detail with records and billing * Comfortable learning new software and equipment * Adaptable ? happy to help out where needed * Dependable and punctual * Able to commit to the full 9?12 month contract

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
