Our home is divided into six distinct home areas; five Nursing Home (11-12 residents each) and one Residential Care (11 residents). Our team of skilled, caring staff work together to create a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment where residents feel valued and supported every day.ABOUT THE ROLE:Alderwood is seeking a dedicated, long-term leader who is committed to growing with our organization and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. This person will provide thoughtful, and strategic direction, as part of the Senior Leadership Team.The Director of Care (DOC) plays a key leadership role in supporting resident-centered care and the overall operations of the home. Working closely with the Clinical Nursing Manager, the DOC ensures clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous quality improvement. Together, these roles compassion, professionalism, and accountability.This role holds primary responsibility for the operation and leadership of the Nursing Department, ensuring provision of comprehensive nursing and Allied health services to all residents which meet the Mission, Vision, and Values of Alderwood.This role is ideal for a leader who is motivated by optimizing operations while maintaining a warm, home-like environment for residents and staff. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on daily care delivery and the overall success of the home.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for all clinical and care operationsCollaborate with other senior leaders to optimize operational efficiency and resident outcomesEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements, licensing standards, and quality initiativesLead, mentor, and develop direct reports and frontline staffOversee staffing and workforce planning to meet resident care needsAllocation and monitoring of both fiscal and personnel resourcesImplement and monitor policies, procedures, and best practicesFoster a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvementSupport strategic initiatives to enhance resident experience and organizational performanceREQUIREMENTS:Current License with NSCNDemonstrated leadership experience and ability to co-ordinate, supervise and oversee a comprehensive nursing care programShow a proven track record of leadership in a team settingClinical experience in a long-term care setting an assetMinimum 5 years nursing experienceEffective written, oral and interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated experience with use of technology as part of operations, with a working knowledge of computers (ie.
