About the Position
Yo-Bones BBQ Catering Ltd. is looking for a reliable, friendly, and hardworking *Food Counter Attendant* to join our team at a corporate cafeteria in Burnaby.
This is a full-time, Monday?Friday position with primarily morning shifts. The successful candidate will help provide friendly and efficient service to employees, assist with food preparation and serving, maintain a clean and organized cafeteria, and support the daily operation of the kitchen and service area.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service * Take customer orders and process payments accurately * Prepare and serve food and beverages according to company standards * Assist with daily food preparation, portioning, and setup * Keep food displays, serving areas, counters, and dining areas clean and organized * Restock food, beverages, condiments, utensils, and other supplies as needed * Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures * Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation * Assist with opening and closing duties * Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment and work areas * Follow instructions from supervisors and work cooperatively with the team * Help maintain a welcoming and professional environment for our corporate clients * Perform other duties related to cafeteria operations as required
Qualifications
* Previous experience in food service, restaurants, cafeterias, or customer service is an asset * FoodSafe certification is an asset * Strong customer service and communication skills * Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic * Able to work independently as well as part of a team * Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment * Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, cleaning, and restocking * Attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety * Positive attitude and professional appearance * Must be available to work Monday?Friday, primarily during morning and daytime hours
