Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Remote location. Tasks: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Type of trucking and equipment: Flatbed. Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles). Transportation/travel experience: Local. Long-haul. National. Provincial/territorial. Regional. Short-haul. Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle. Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel overnight. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Sitting. Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs). Experience: 1 to less than 7 months. Support for youths: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
