Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Rural area. Hotel, motel, resort. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs. Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment. Perform minor repairs on appliances. Perform safety and security checks. Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies. Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Work with minimal supervision. Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas. Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical systems failures. Inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards. Co-ordinate implementation of repairs, maintenance and renovation. Equipment: Power tools. Security system. Snowblower. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
