Who are our Expert Volunteers?

A hallmark of USP's standards is that they are determined by independent scientific experts. USP Expert Volunteers are selected based on their individual expertise and experience and use their best personal, professional, and scientific judgment to work collaboratively on setting standards. USP Expert Volunteers must agree to disclose conflicts of interest and to uphold standards of conduct that preserve the integrity of the standard setting process.

2025-2030 Focus Area:

Inhaler testing methodologies and equipment; Cascade impactor testing and analysis; Aerosol product characterization and evaluation; Particle size distribution analysis; Aerodynamic particle size measurement and performance assessment; Aerosolization and dispersion technologies; Device performance and airflow dynamics; Regulatory compliance for inhalation products; Quality control and validation of inhalation systems.

2025-2030 KEY ISSUES

Several previous members with deep inhalation expertise are not returning for this cycle, creating a significant gap in specialized knowledge. To ensure the quality, scientific rigor, and relevance of upcoming standards, it is essential to recruit experts in inhalation drug products. Their contributions will be vital for addressing complex technical challenges and maintaining USP's leadership in this area.
