About this role

Job Summary

Responsible for receiving and delivering incoming packages for all hospital departments associated clinics; also responsible for all outgoing parcels and freight shipments.

Essential Functions

- Monitors the unloading of packages from delivery vehicle as appropriate and ensures package count is accurate prior to signing for the delivery.

- Checks in freight against packing slips and/or purchase orders. Reports all discrepancies to the Purchasing Buyer.

- Properly enters/receives purchase order deliveries into the materials management information system (MMIS).

- Documents receipt and delivery of non-purchase order deliveries in accordance with departmental protocol.

- Prepares items to be shipped outside the organization.

- Responsible for the general cleaning and organizing of the receiving dock.

Other Duties

- Participate in department physical inventory

- Stock /restock Materials inventory supplies on the shelves.

- Prepares and fills miscellaneous requisitions.

- Participates in departmental and association wide informational meetings and in-services, including staff meetings, association wide forums, and seminars.

- Reviews department and association wide policies and procedures annually.

Abilities

- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English.

- Able to operate a pallet jack.

- Working knowledge of standard office software and applications, including:

- MMIS (Materials Management Information System)

- Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

- Internet

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Physical Demands

Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Required Education and Experience

- High School Diploma or Equivalent

- Must obtain and maintain Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) certification

Involves no regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and are not a condition of employment.
