ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:
· Prepares and serves high-quality meals for patients, employees, and visitors in a timely manner.
· Stocks dining room.
· Delivers trays to the floor and delivers trays to patient rooms.
· Runs diet report and patient diet cards.
· Adheres to correct portion control.
· Follows and uses the diet manual.
· Cleans lettuce and vegetables.
· Stocks all departments.
· Records items and amounts sent on tickets.
· Submits meal receipts.
· Submits accurate time cards.
· Follows policy and procedures regarding recording temperature. Takes and records temperature.
· Works safely and promotes a safe work environment.
· Politely communicates with patients to find out likes and dislikes.
· Answers the phone professionally.
· Takes breaks per policy.
· Attends mandatory meetings.
· Washes, sorts, and puts away dishes per departmental policy.
· Cleans and organizes all of the kitchen and pantry walk-ins.
· Empties trash containers.
· Sweeps and/or mops floor.
· Wraps silverware.
· Puts away supplies in the appropriate areas.
· Rotates stock.
· Refills condiment bottles.
· Sanitizes bottles and shakers daily.
· Checks expiration dates.
· Receives payment by proximity card, cash, check, or credit/debit cards.
· Answers customers' questions and provides information in a friendly manner.
· Strive to ensure continual compliance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures and State and Federal regulations. Employee participates in mandatory in-services.
· Identifies and accesses systems to report abuse of employees and/or patients.
· Adheres to policies and procedures for infection control, safety, and risk management.
· Communicates observations/concerns to the Dietary Manager during regular meetings.
· Determines special dietary requirements of late admissions and ensures the patient's nutritional needs are met.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Completes all required annual education, training, in-services, and licensure/certification updates; actively participates in departmental and organizational meetings or reviews meeting minutes as required.
· Maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times.
· Reports to work punctually and completes assigned duties within established timeframes.
· Actively contributes to departmental and organization-wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
· Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies.
· Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver's license).
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
· Must successfully pass a background check.
· Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
· Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
EDUCATION, LICENSURE(S), AND CERTIFICATION(S)
