About this role

Position Summary

As a Host, your responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and providing information about menu offerings and special promotions. Hosts also coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth dining experiences and handle guest inquiries and concerns. Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Essential Functions

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, seating them according to rotation and service levels for balanced workflow.

• Provide menus, share knowledge of food and beverage offerings, and assist with to-go orders or retail purchases.

• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and sufficient stock of supplies at the host stand and assigned stations at all times.

• Complete opening duties, set up station and side stations with necessary condiments, supplies, tools, and equipment according to standards.

• Proactively anticipate, acknowledge, and respond to guest needs, maintaining attentive service even during busy periods.

• Work cohesively with co-workers and all departments to ensure seamless guest service across outlets.

• Follow all service, safety, sanitation, and operating procedures, including required certifications, company policies, and attendance standards.

• Perform end-of-shift closing tasks, complete reports, and communicate with supervisors or the Manager on Duty before departure.

• Maintain knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, service procedures, 4 Keys service standards, and safety and security procedures.

• Perform all additional duties as assigned by management.

Skills and Abilities

• Understand and align with the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel.

• Prioritize tasks, work efficiently with limited supervision, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.

• Communicate effectively in the primary workplace language, demonstrating excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills.

• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, equipment handling, and compliance with required licenses or certifications.

• Ability to comprehend and follow recipes.

• Work well under pressure and in challenging conditions, using good judgment to resolve problems, follow directions, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:

· Flexible and long hours sometimes required

· Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds

· Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

· Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
