Job Summary
The Preventative Maintenance Mechanic I is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment. This role supports routine maintenance activities, equipment inspections, lubrication tasks, and basic mechanical repairs under direct supervision. The position serves as a foundational development role within the maintenance team and requires strong reliability, a willingness to learn, and consistent adherence to safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the installation and alignment of basic conveyor components, including belts, pulleys, and rollers.
• Perform routine lubrication and preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Conduct basic mechanical inspections to identify worn or failing parts and report findings to senior mechanics.
• Support maintenance of chain drives, tensioners, and lubrication systems through minor adjustments and component replacements.
• Assist with basic pneumatic system checks, including filter changes and hose inspections.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company safety standards.
• Learn and follow established procedures for handling hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Assist with equipment troubleshooting by providing observations, gathering information, and supporting senior technicians.
• Reference equipment manuals, simple diagrams, and maintenance instructions to perform assigned tasks.
• Support production operations by responding to basic equipment issues and escalating more complex problems appropriately.

Preferred Experience
• 0–2 years of experience in mechanical, industrial, or equipment maintenance.
• Familiarity with conveyor systems, lubrication practices, or mechanical assembly preferred.
• Interest in gaining experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and fabrication.
