About this role
Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity Let's be honest. Most people don't spend much time thinking about water infrastructure. Until the water stops flowing. As a Water Serviceperson, you'll be one of the people who make sure that doesn't happen. Working across Taupō's 3 Waters network, you'll help maintain and repair essential infrastructure that delivers water services to local homes, businesses and communities. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety and likes being out and about rather than stuck behind a desk. One day you could be responding to a network fault, the next helping with planned maintenance, investigating issues, reinstating sites or supporting emergency response activities. You'll work alongside an experienced team that values practical skills, teamwork and a willingness to get stuck in. Whether you're already working in civil construction, infrastructure or utilities, or you're looking to further develop your experience in the 3 Waters sector, this role offers the opportunity to build valuable skills while working on assets that genuinely matter to the community. If you enjoy hands-on work, solving problems and seeing the results of your effort at the end of the day, you'll fit right in. Mōu koe | About You You don't need to know everything on day one, but you'll bring the right attitude, practical mindset and willingness to learn. Ideally, you'll have:
• At least 12 months' experience in civil construction, infrastructure, utilities or a similar environment • An interest in, or experience working within, water and wastewater networks • A Full Class 1 Driver Licence, with Class 2 and WTR endorsements highly regarded • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team • A practical approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting • Confidence using mobile devices and technology to capture field information and job records • A proactive attitude and strong commitment to safety • The ability to engage professionally with customers and the public Most importantly, you're reliable, motivated and keen to be part of a team that takes pride in delivering great service to the local community.
