Salary: £53,000 - 93,000 per year
Requirements: Deep PostgreSQL internals expertise, specifically MVCC (Multi-Version Concurrency Control), transaction semantics, locking behaviour, and advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL Write-Ahead LoggingExpert or advanced experience with physical and logical PostgreSQL data structuresHighly proficient with PostgreSQL Toolkit and third-party diagnostic toolsExperience correlating evidence across multiple systems, schemas, and logsExperience investigating concurrency issues with cloud database vendorsDesirable experience with common database-access frameworks including JDBC, Hibernate, SQLAlchemy, or equivalent PostgreSQL frameworks Responsibilities: Lead a technical assessment into reported database anomalies and determine whether sufficient evidence and technical access exist for a defensible investigationAssess the scale, complexity, and forensic relevance of PostgreSQL data structures and the transaction modelReview the availability and completeness of historical artefacts, including database records, WAL, logs, backups, audit data, and other sourcesEvaluate the feasibility of reconstructing historical transaction activity and establishing reliable timelines for reported anomaliesIdentify principal technical and evidential risk areas that may require deeper forensic examinationReconstruct transaction timelines where feasibleCorrelate anomalies with audit and metadata to determine business impactCatalogue distinct issue types with verifiable examples Technologies: CloudHibernateSupportPostgreSQL More:
