Requirements: Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.Strong knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator are a plus.SC clearance is required. Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain database management systems software.Monitor database performance and ensure efficient operation.Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.Perform regular backups and ensure data recovery capabilities.Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.Control access permissions and privileges for database users.Conduct security audits and implement necessary changes to enhance security.Design, develop, and implement databases according to organizational requirements.Optimize database structures and queries for maximum performance.Define and enforce data standards and guidelines.Estimate future database capacity requirements and plan for expansion.Recommend hardware and software upgrades to support growing database needs.Document database configurations, procedures, and guidelines.Generate reports on database usage, performance, and security.Collaborate with development teams to optimize database usage in applications.Provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff.Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices. We are hiring a Database Administrator for a 6-month contract based in Telford, with two days on site per week. We offer pay of up to £460 per day via umbrella. You will work with our IT teams and other departments to help maintain secure, reliable, and high-performing database systems that support our organizations needs.
