Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse or just qualified Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at The Apples Medical Centre on a part-time basis, working primarily in our Treatment Room.
The Role:
Youll be working primarily in our Treatment Room, delivering high-quality patient care including wound care, immunisations, cervical screening, and chronic disease monitoringwhile working closely with our fantastic clinical team and the Sherborne PCN

Main duties of the job
Providing assessment, screening and treatment services and health education adviceProvide nursing treatments to patients in participation with general practitioners or independently to agreed protocols.Provide general and specific health screenings to the practice patients (within agreed protocols) with referral to general practitioners as necessary.Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments with referral to GPs as necessary;Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments with referral to GPs as necessaryPhlebotomyDressingsInfection Control

Job description Job responsibilities
To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced RGN and any additional roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training.
Typical duties include:
holding patient consultations within the surgerycarrying out physical examinations and tests such as cervical smeartreating woundsapplying and removing dressingsgiving advice, education and information about stopping smoking and losing weighttaking patient samples, swabs and specimens, and checking pulses, temperatures and blood pressuresadministering immunisations, travel vaccinations and infant injectionswriting records and keeping patients notes up to dateassisting GPs with minor procedures.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Registered nurse with current NMC registration and active PIN
Desirable
Minimum 1 year experience post registration.
Experience Desirable
Experience of working in primary care Experience of GMS Contract and QOF requirements
