Futures Supervisor - Rhythm Rides

Reports to: Kids Programs Manager - Niseko
Direct Reports: None
Daily Team Leadership: Futures Seasonal Coaches; Kids Program staff during delegated coverage
Program Scope: Futures Seasonal Program (12 weeks); Kids Multi-Day Program support
Position Type: Seasonal hourly supervisory position, between 30 to 40 hours per week.
Wages:
Hourly: From ¥2,384 per hour to ¥2,850 per hour, or
Monthly From:¥466,597 to ¥557,197
Seasonal Estimate: From: ¥2,532,562 to ¥2,995,188
Actual amount will vary depending on the actual number of working days, hours, and shift conditions.
Travel Allowance: ¥100,000 reimbursed on actual flight cost

The Role:
The Futures Supervisor - Niseko is the dedicated lead for Rhythm Rides' Futures Seasonal Program, focused on building a strong community and supporting the development of young skiers and snowboarders.
The role leads weekly delivery and receives dedicated preparation time to develop seasonal training plans, coordinate special events and competition days, support coaches and manage parent communication relating to athlete progress and program delivery. The Supervisor also provides scheduled support to the Kids Multi-Day Program. The Kids Programs Manager retains overall ownership of staffing, performance, budgets and escalated matters.
The Futures Supervisor - Niseko is accountable for:
• A strong and connected Futures community for athletes, coaches and families
• High-quality seasonal coaching and athlete development
• Well-prepared training plans, events and competition days
• Clear parent communication on athlete progress, development and program delivery
• Consistent coach leadership and program standards
• Reliable Kids Multi-Day Program support when rostered
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Futures Seasonal Program Leadership
• Lead the day-to-day delivery of the 12-week Futures Seasonal Program.
• Plan seasonal priorities, athlete progression and key dates with the Kids Programs Manager.
• Prepare weekly training plans and communicate clear objectives to coaches.
• Coordinate athlete groups, coach assignments and day-of adjustments within agreed staffing plans.
• Build a positive program culture that supports belonging, motivation and long-term athlete development.
Program Preparation, Events and Competitions
• Use allocated preparation time to develop seasonal and weekly training plans, coach resources and program communication.
• Plan and coordinate special events, training days and competition days with the Kids Programs Manager and relevant teams.
• Prepare event schedules, participant information, staffing and operational requirements in advance.
• Review athlete and program progress and adapt training priorities based on needs, conditions and feedback.
Parent and Program Communication
• Own parent communication relating to athlete progress, progression concerns, coaching focus and program management.
• Maintain proactive communication with enrolled families regarding training focus, program schedules, events, competition days and important program updates.
• Provide clear and appropriate athlete-development feedback, build positive relationships with families and escalate significant or sensitive program concerns to the Kids Programs Manager.
Coach Leadership and Development
• Provide daily leadership, briefings and support to Futures Seasonal coaches.
• Observe delivery and provide coaching and feedback to maintain consistent standards.
• Work with the Kids Programs Manager and Training leadership on agreed coach-development priorities.
• Support onboarding and program-specific training and raise recurring performance concerns promptly.
Kids Multi-Day Program Support
• Provide scheduled supervisory support to the Kids Multi-Day Program when rostered.
• Support line-up, staff coordination, group organisation, day-of parent communication and routine operational problem-solving.
• Provide delegated manager cover when assigned by the Kids Programs Manager.
• Work collaboratively with the generalist Snowsports Supervisor providing additional coverage across the Kids and Private Programs.
Safety, Program Quality and Administration
• Ensure Futures and delegated Kids Program delivery follows approved child-safety, lesson, resort and operational procedures.
• Monitor athlete wellbeing and group suitability and raise concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate attendance, program notes, incident records and required operational information.
• Review feedback, support routine program administration and recommend practical improvements.
Role Boundaries
• The Kids Programs Manager owns overall Kids Program staffing, rosters, performance management, budgets and escalated matters.
• The Futures Supervisor owns day-to-day Futures Seasonal Program delivery, preparation, coach leadership and parent communication relating to athlete progress and program management within approved plans.
• Guest Services owns sales enquiries, product information, availability, bookings, payments and booking changes. These enquiries should be directed to Guest Services rather than managed by the Futures Supervisor.
• The Futures Supervisor provides delegated Kids Multi-Day Program coverage when rostered but does not own the six-day program.
• Product strategy, significant policy changes and matters outside delegated authority remain with the Kids Programs Manager, Senior Lessons Manager and appropriate senior leadership.

• Consistent, high-quality coaching and clear athlete progression
• Training plans, events and competition days prepared and delivered effectively
• Clear athlete-development and program communication with enrolled families
• Coaches supported and aligned across the season
• Reliable Kids Multi-Day Program support and safe, accurate delivery
What you need to succeed:
Qualifications and Experience
• Supervisory or leadership experience within a snowsports school, club or youth development program.
• Strong experience coaching or teaching children and young athletes in skiing or snowboarding.
• Experience planning seasonal training programs, events or competition preparation is highly desirable.
• Ski or snowboard instructor or coaching qualification; minimum Level 2 or equivalent, with higher qualifications preferred.
• First Aid certification and a valid Japanese or recognised international driver licence.
Skills and Attributes

• Strong leadership and communication with coaches, children and parents.
• Organised and able to plan across a full season while managing day-of operational needs.
• Confident providing coaching, feedback and clear direction to staff.
• Calm, practical and collaborative, with good judgement about when to resolve or escalate an issue.
