Functional Support: Resort Relations Manager - Rhythm Rides; Guest Services Leadership

Position Type: Seasonal full-time, cross-functional support role

Language Requirement: Professional fluency in Japanese and English

About us:

Rhythm is about creating epic experiences for our customers, which starts with our people. We live by our values and put people first. We take pride in creating working and living environments that foster innovation, adventure, and balance. Working at Rhythm is more than a job; it's an experience you will have forever.

The Role:

The Resort Coordinator - Furano is Rhythm Rides' local bilingual resort representative and provides resort liaison, administration and operational support to the Furano team.

The role maintains day-to-day resort relationships and supports the Furano Location Manager with Japanese-English communication. The Resort Relations Manager provides national guidance on resort relationships, approvals and compliance. Senior leadership retains authority for products, policies, procedures and how Rhythm Rides operates at each resort.

The Coordinator may provide flexible cross-functional support across Guest Services, guide operations and Backcountry Rental Operations when operational needs, peak periods or staff absences require additional support.

The Resort Coordinator - Furano is accountable for:

• Professional local resort representation and bilingual communication

• Accurate communication of resort requirements and approved operational updates

• Flexible cross-functional support when operationally required

• Effective coordination between Guest Services, guides and Store Operations

• Professional initial incident support and prompt escalation of serious matters

• Accurate local administration, onboarding and accounts support

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Resort Liaison and Bilingual Support

• Act as the day-to-day local contact for Furano resort partners and attend meetings when required.

• Maintain positive working relationships, gather relevant information and keep the Furano Location Manager informed.

• Seek guidance from the Resort Relations Manager on approvals, sensitive communication and relationship issues.

• Translate routine documents and communications and provide Japanese-English interpretation when required.

• Communicate resort requirements and approved Rides updates locally, and escalate complex or high-risk matters promptly.

Cross-Functional Operational Support

• Provide practical cross-functional support across Guest Services, guide operations and Store Operations when requested by the Furano Location Manager.

• Support routine guest service, booking, check-in, meeting-point or operational tasks when required and within approved procedures.

• Support guest and guide transitions, transport, equipment handovers and daily logistics as required.

• Communicate approved product restrictions, changes or cancellations as directed by the Furano Location Manager or Guide Safety Officer.

• Escalate complaints, refunds, guide-allocation questions and other matters outside the role's authority to the appropriate manager.

Operational and Incident Support

• Provide practical operational support including guest and guide transport, vehicle readiness, lift-pass distribution, meeting points and daily logistics.

• Support coordination between Guest Services, guides and Furano Store Operations when operational assistance is required.

• When trained and requested, assist Furano Store Operations with routine backcountry rental or equipment tasks under Store Operations procedures.

• Support equipment movement, guide communication and operational equipment handovers when directed.

• Provide current Japanese-language lift, weather, transport and resort-operation information when needed.

• Contact resort ski patrol for on-mountain injuries or accidents and support initial bilingual communication, medical-service access and vehicle-accident reporting as required.

• Record key information and hand ongoing incident management to the Furano Location Manager and relevant teams; guide-related technical incident leadership remains with the Guide Safety Officer.

People, Administration and Accounts Support

• Support bilingual seasonal onboarding, town-office registration, bank-account opening and approved local settlement support under People and Culture and location management.

• Provide general administration support including local records, correspondence, meetings, travel, deliveries and seasonal preparation.

• Manage petty cash and operational credit-card administration, maintaining accurate receipts and reconciliation records.

• Submit required records on time and escalate missing information, discrepancies or employee matters to the appropriate manager, People and Culture or Finance.

Role Boundaries

• Senior leadership owns decisions about resort operating models, products, company policy and procedures.

• The Furano Location Manager owns daily operations, guide allocation, local compliance, employee performance, resources and significant guest decisions.

• The Guide Safety Officer holds final technical authority for daily terrain, operating limits and guide-safety decisions; this role communicates approved decisions but does not make them.

• The Resort Relations Manager leads national resort relationships, approval coordination and compliance administration; Guest Services Leadership owns Guest Services procedures, sales standards and systems.

• Furano Store Operations owns guest rental fitting, rental transactions, inventory control and maintenance; this role may provide trained support when requested but does not own or routinely staff the rental function.

• This role does not supervise Guest Services, guides or Store staff; allocate guides; set safety parameters; approve significant refunds; manage employee performance; set policy; or independently resolve serious compliance matters. Cross-functional support does not replace the functional ownership or routine staffing of those teams.

Key Measures of Success:

• Positive and professional relationships with Furano resort contacts

• Accurate and timely bilingual communication and resort updates

• Responsive cross-functional support when operational needs require it

• Effective coordination between Guest Services, guides and Store Operations

• Professional initial incident support and appropriate handover

• Accurate administration, accounts records and prompt escalation of concerns

What you need to succeed:

Qualifications and Experience

• Professional fluency in written and spoken Japanese and English.

• Experience in guest services, administration, stakeholder support, tourism, hospitality or resort operations.

• Experience translating and interpreting business, guest or operational communication.

• Strong understanding of Japanese business etiquette and professional communication.

• Experience with booking, customer-service or administrative systems is preferred.

• Knowledge of backcountry snowsports equipment, Furano Resort and local services is preferred.

• Valid Japanese or recognised international driver licence required; snow-driving experience is preferred.

Skills and Attributes

• Clear, respectful and confident communication across cultures.

• Strong guest-service, relationship-building and organisational skills.

• High attention to detail and reliable follow-through.

• Ability to remain calm and professional during complaints, injuries or sensitive situations.

• Good judgement about when to respond locally and when to escalate.

• Flexible, team-focused and comfortable providing practical support across functions when operationally required.
