About this role
Description:
Operate & maintain Ammonia Refrigeration System, Boilers, Air Compressors & Dryers, HVAC equipment, Scrubbers, water chillers & heaters, pumps, blowers, steam traps, valves, etc. in support of facility operations. Serve as a member of the Hazmat Emergency Response Team.
Tasks:
• Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration system
• Operate, monitor, and maintain compressed air system
• Operate, monitor and maintain steam system
• Monitor control system parameters and make scheduled rounds checking on equipment
• Test and adjust chemical levels for condenser water treatment and boilers
• Perform system startups & shutdowns
• Perform maintenance tasks such as filter changes, oil separator changes, and oil changes.
• Troubleshoot system, make repairs, and assist contractors as needed
• Serve on Hazmat Emergency Response Team
• Wear a respirator, SCBA, and/or Level A Suit when necessary
• Participate in Process Safety Management program and follow all related procedures
Required:
• Experience operating & maintaining Industrial Refrigeration Systems
• Understanding of Refrigeration Cycle
• Knowledge & experience with System Components
• Screw Compressors
• Evaporators
• Evaporative Condensers
• Pumps
• Valve stations
• Knowledge of water testing and chemical treatment
• Ability to serve on Hazmat Team and wear a respirator, SCBA, and Level A Suit
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Ability to climb a ladder and work at heights when necessary
• Ability to work in confined spaces
Preferred:
• Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) or Certified Ammonia Refrigeration Operator (CARO)
• Hazmat Technician
• Incident Commander
• Ammonia Refrigeration, Compressed Air, and Boiler experience
• PSM Experience to include:
• Participation in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
• Developing & following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Mechanical Integrity checks
• Experience operating scissor lifts and articulating boom lifts
