What is the opportunity? Join RBC as the Director, Strategic Content and play a pivotal role in driving the vision and presence of Global Security (GS). As part of the Strategic Initiatives & Regulatory Delivery (SI&RD) team, you will assist in developing the Strategic Content portfolio for GS overall. This is a high-impact role that blends exceptional storytelling with strategic content development related to security and risk across the organization. This position is well suited for a senior leader with strong relationship management and influencing skills.

This role reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Content & Enablement – Global Security, and supports the Office of RBC’s Chief Security Officer. The ability to absorb complex cyber and physical security concepts and translate into executive-level language is mandatory.

What will you do? As part of the Strategic Content & Enablement team in SI&RD, you will be responsible for activities including but not limited to:

• GS Strategy and Periodic Updates: Oversee the orchestration, content development, and co-crafting of Global Security’s Strategy and Periodic Updates. Develop strategic content and translate performance metrics and achievements into compelling narrative during reporting cycles, promoting a shared understanding of the bank’s security and risk priorities and posture.

• Board & Executive Communications: Develop strategic messaging and content for, but not limited to, presentations to RBC’s Board of Directors and sub boards, Risk Committees, and operational committees, translating complex technical concepts into clear updates. In addition, support executives on key strategic programs/initiatives.

• Research & Insights: Research and connect with a wide range of stakeholders on complex security initiatives and trends impacting our organization and community. Cultivate relationships to understand priorities and goals for Global Security across all pillars and our broader Technology & Operations group, aligning as One RBC to support our business partners. Provide Thought Leadership by translating intelligence into strategic insights for senior leaders.

• GS Content Development: Craft and offer direction for Global Security’s messaging to a wide variety of stakeholders, ensuring consistency and clarity across all content. Build and maintain an understanding of security and cybersecurity concepts, such as the current landscape and emerging technologies. Future-proof and develop strategies to integrate AI tools for real-time analytics and reporting.

What do you need to succeed? Must have:

• 10+ years of strategic communications experience, including executive communications, reputation management, and/or change management in a global organization

• Excellent PowerPoint and design skills, with the ability to craft compelling presentations from start to finish.

• Strategy development experience with a forward-thinking mindset, working within a complex, matrixed environment.

• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for varied audiences.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with meticulous attention to detail and ability to perform independent research.

• Leadership and stakeholder management skills to influence and collaborate effectively

• University degree or equivalent business experience.

Nice to have:

• Graphic Design Expertise: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator).

• Professional Certifications: CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) or SCMP (Strategic Communication Management Professional).

• Security & Risk Certifications: CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information System Control) or CCISP (Certified Cyber Security and Information Professional).

• Change Management Certifications: Prosci or CCMP (Certified Change Management Professional).
