About this role

Key Responsibilities/ Challenges: 1. Customs Brokerage & Documentation

• Execute customs brokerage activities, including maintaining shipment records and preparing customs documents such as Bill of Lading, declarations, and clearance paperwork.

• Accurately classify goods and calculate duties, tariffs, taxes, weights, and volumes.

• Manage the filing of customs entries and enter shipment details into the E-Paperless program for submission to the Customs Office.

• Handle daily customs declarations, post-clearance updates, and document archiving.

2. Customs Compliance & Regulatory Coordination

• Manage customs and compliance processes to ensure timely and cost-effective international shipments.

• Coordinate permits, licenses, and certificates required for customs clearance.

• Advise customers on customs regulations and trade compliance, including restricted or sanctioned destinations.

• Identify facts and resolve customs-related issues, and recommend solutions to both external and internal stakeholders.

3. Coordination & Control Tower

• Act as control tower, cooperating with Customer Service, customers, shipping lines, and freight forwarders to complete customs declaration and clearance end-to-end.

• Coordinate with overseas offices, customs authorities, and shipping agents to confirm requirements, costs, and timelines.

4. Relationship & Knowledge Building

• Develop a network of contacts to build relationships and strengthen DGF's product and market knowledge.

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Customs Declaration Accuracy: ≥ 98%

• On-Time Customs Entry Filing / Clearance: ≥ 95%

• Compliance / Audit Findings: Zero critical non-conformities

• Document Archiving Completed within SLA: ≥ 98%

• Issue Resolution within SLA: ≥ 95%

6. Decision-Making Authority

• Classify goods and determine duty, tariff, and tax calculations for assigned shipments.

• Prepare and submit customs declarations and entries within delegated authority.

• Verify and confirm required permits, licenses, and certificates prior to clearance.

• Coordinate directly with customs authorities, shipping agents, and overseas offices on routine matters.

• Recommend solutions for customs-related issues; escalate complex or high-risk compliance matters to the Team Leader/Manager.

• No authority to make final rulings on restricted or sanctioned destinations without Team Leader/Compliance sign-off.

Selection Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, Logistics or a related field.

• Holding a Customs Broker License is an advantage

• Experience with CargoWise (CW1) is an advantage.

• At least 2-3 years’ experience in Freight or Logistics.

• Understanding of customs clearance processes, with the ability to interpret regulations and provide practical guidance to ensure compliant and efficient shipments.

• Effective communication skill of spoken and written in English

• Have computer skill; MS Office, Outlook

• Availability to work on Saturdays is required.
