The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.
This is an exciting opportunity for a research assistant to become a member of the Design Bioethics Lab (DBL) led by Professor Ilina Singh. You will support the project to develop a novel research method for identifying and analysing ethical issues in child and adolescent psychosis risk prediction. You will particularly support the development of a novel research method for identifying and analysing ethical issues in child and adolescent psychosis risk prediction.
About the Role
The post is funded for 18 months and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.
You will take a leading role in the day-to-day administration of DBL procedures, including taking and disseminating minutes, making appointments; maintain Gantt charts, website, and digital folders; support research ethics and governance documentation. You will co-manage the NeurOx YPAG for the NEUROSEC team and carry out any PPIE activities in line with PPIE values and procedures, including safeguarding, consent and data protection.
About You
You will hold a first degree in in psychiatry, psychology, bioethics, philosophy or another relevant subject e.g. social sciences. You will have specialist knowledge of co-production approaches and frameworks, particularly those relevant to young people. Master's degree in psychiatry, psychology, bioethics, philosophy or another relevant subject e.g. social sciences is desirable
