Job Description The Fabric Technician / Facilities Maintenance Operative is responsible for carrying out a wide range of building fabric maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operation of client facilities. The role requires a practical, hands-on individual with experience in general building maintenance, minor repairs, and facilities support activities, while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and customer service. Job Responsibilities Perform minor building repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works. Repair doors, locks, ceilings, walls, flooring, and fixtures. Carry out basic painting, plastering, carpentry, and plumbing tasks. Conduct routine inspections and report defects via CAFM systems. Assist with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities. Escort contractors and support maintenance response activities. Maintain external areas, pathways, and site grounds. Support furniture moves, deliveries, stock control, and stores management. Complete maintenance records and update CAFM systems accurately. Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures. Skills & Experience Experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or building operations. Good general maintenance skills, including basic carpentry, painting, and plumbing. Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work. Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively. Competent in the use of hand and power tools. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Qualifications Safe Pass Working at Height MEWP Certification Abrasive Wheels Training Scaffold Licence Experience using CAFM systems
