Summary The St-Pierre Lab is seeking a motivated and creative scientist or engineer to develop next-generation tools for interfacing with the brain that includes genetically encoded voltage indicators (GEVIs), optogenetic silencers, and fluorescent proteins. Postdoctoral Associate with expertise, which may include: • Protein engineering • Optical system development • High-throughput screening • Electrophysiology • Computational approaches This position offers the opportunity to develop cutting-edge molecular technologies, expand your technical skill set, and contribute to a collaborative, intellectually stimulating research environment. Baylor College of Medicine typically follows similar to the NIH stipulated stipend guidelines for Postdoctoral Associates. Job Duties Leads and contributes to research projects, both independently and collaboratively. Sets up, maintains, and optimizes experimental equipment. Mentors and trains lab members in techniques and experimental design. Presents research findings in lab meetings and at scientific conferences. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field. No experience required. Preferred Qualifications At least one first-author (or co-first-author) paper published in or submitted to a high-impact, peer-reviewed English-language journal. Manuscripts in preparation can be noted in your CV or cover letter.
