The Section of Cardiology, within the Department of Medicine, is a highly collaborative workplace on the main campus of the University of Chicago. Job Summary The Section of Cardiology is looking for a Research Technician to work within the Dr. Kirk research lab in the Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology. Responsibilities
• Assists with animal and mass spectrometry experiments. • Records findings/results. • Maintains laboratory notebook. • Helps with lab maintenance, ordering of supplies, stocking shelves, and clean-up. • Performs basic lab technique, such as making of buffers, pipetting, immunoblots, PCR, and microscopy. Performs experiments for specific projects. • Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project. • Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents. • Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field. Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline. Certifications: ---
