The Process Technician supports the injection molding operation by assisting with machine setups, monitoring production processes, and helping ensure the consistent manufacture of high-quality plastic components. This role focuses on maintaining safe and efficient production, supporting troubleshooting efforts, reducing waste, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while developing technical skills in injection molding processes and equipment.
You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities
• Consistently demonstrates safety first mindset; follows all safety related processes and procedures, quickly escalates safety related concerns or issues to create a safe work environment for all employees. • Complete injection molds and related equipment startup, shutdown, and basic setup activities for sample/production runs. • Monitor molding machine gauges, pressures, temperatures and production processes to ensure parts meet quality standards. • Perform routine process checks and document production data including cycle times and part quality. • Work unsupervised while using manual and/or power equipment and tools while performing multiple tasks. • Assist in mold changes and material changes as directed. • Identify and report quality concerns, equipment issues, or process deviations. • Make process adjustments to maintain product quality. • Support troubleshooting efforts for molding defects and equipment issues to correct problem processes. • Manage the collection and movement of recyclable materials to designated holding areas in support of efficient plant operations. • Maintain process documentation and production records. • Follow standardized work instructions and operating procedures. • Maintain work area, including but not limited to, mold storage, secondary equipment storage and mold crib, per 6s facility standards without direction to reduce scrap and improve manufacturing efficiency. • Proactively work with team members to meet the needs of the production floor. • Ability to work overtime with advanced or little notice. • All other duties as assigned.
The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:
• High School Diploma or GED • Moderate proficiency to read and communicate in English • 2+ years of specified Molding Technician experience • 2+ years of quality and/or troubleshooting experience in a Molding environment • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and electronics. • Forklift Certification (Milwaukee will train) • Speed, Agility & Urgency- Quickly respond to changing priorities, production demands, and equipment issues to support scheduled production requirements while maintaining multiple tasks simultaneously with safety and quality standards. • User Focused, Solution Driven- Maintain a strong attention to detail and accuracy to ensure equipment performs at the highest level of efficiency to produce quality products for a positive end user experience. • Extreme Ownership- Demonstrates accountability for machine performance, product quality, safety, and work area organization by proactively identifying issues, taking action to resolve them, and seeing tasks through to completion. • One Team Mentality- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality, supporting smooth operations and team success • Disruptive Mindset- Bring positive energy that motivates others while working independently or alongside a team • Candid- Support a culture of transparency and accountability across the department through honest, direct feedback • Relentless Improvement- The initiative to identify opportunities for process improvement, raising the standard for yourself and your team.
Working Conditions:
• The employee may be required to frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 35 pounds • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus • Prolonged standing and/or walking for up to 8 hours per shift • Physically demanding that requires frequent bending, crouching, twisting, and reaching • Regular exposure to a greasy manufacturing environment is expected • Employees are required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain work cells
