The role comprises 4-6 sessions per week, worked across two or three days. One working day will be allocated to on-call responsibilities. The third working day, where required, will be agreed in line with practice requirements and the successful candidate's availability.

Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract.
Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

rookvale Practice serves a population of approximately 8,700 patients and is based in Runcorn, Cheshire with excellent motorway links to Manchester, Liverpool, and North Wales.
We operate a Total Triage model, supporting safe, efficient, and timely access to care for our patients.
Our experienced and supportive clinical team includes:
10 GPs
1 Clinical Pharmacist
2 Practice Nurses
1 Nursing Associate
ARRS roles, including a Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician, and Mental Health Practitioner
2 GP Assistants
This is supported by 13 friendly and dedicated reception and administration staff.
Job description Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b. The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract
c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d. Effective management of long-term conditions
e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
f. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
h. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
k. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
l. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
m. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training
n. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
o. Prepare and complete the revalidation process
p. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
q. Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
r. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
s. Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies
t. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement
Person Specification
Experience Essential

Minimum of two years as a salaried GP Experience of medicines management Experience of ICB initiatives
Qualifications Essential
Qualified GP MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
