Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide specialist nursing support to women undergoing investigation and treatment for gynaecological cancers, acting as a key worker and point of contact throughout their cancer pathway. Working across surgical and oncology services, including patients receiving neoadjuvant treatment, you will support care coordination, patient education, symptom management and decision-making.
You will undertake holistic assessments, identify and respond to complex physical, psychological and supportive care needs, and ensure patients and their families receive timely information and support. The role requires close collaboration with surgeons, oncologists, allied health professionals and wider support services to facilitate seamless, safe and effective care.
The successful candidate will use advanced communication and clinical skills to advocate for patients, support informed choice and contribute to improved patient outcomes and experience. You will also play an active role in service development, quality improvement, audit, education and the implementation of evidence-based practice.
This role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who is committed to delivering excellence, driving improvement and supporting the continued development of specialist gynaecological oncology services.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications Essential
a.Registered Nurse Part 1, 2 or relevant section of the register. b.Relevant post-registration programme. c.Teaching/Assessment programme. d.Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification e.Non-medical prescribing qualification.
Desirable
f.Adult physical assessment qualification. g.Completed/completing master's degree. h.Management development programme. i.Leadership development programme. j.Advanced communication course
Experience Essential
a.Post registration experience working with patients receiving cancer treatments, including surgery. b.Prior relevant post registration experience as a CNS c.Experience of clinical audit, quality improvement and evaluating patient outcomes.

a.Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a complex workload. b.Ability to work autonomously and use initiative in managing complex patient situations
