Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized GP Practice Reception Supervisor to lead our Care Navigator team and ensure the smooth operation of our medical practices (Sleaford Street and Austin Road).

Battersea Fields Practice (BFP) serves a highly deprived area of north Battersea. The Austin Road practice was established in 1988 and due to strong encouragement by the then Family Practitioner Committee (FPC), a branch surgery was opened on the Patmore Estate in 1991 due to concern about the pocket of extreme deprivation and significant health needs particularly on the Patmore estate.
We are additionally a training and research practice and pride ourselves on helping student doctors and nurses gain experience working in the health environment.
Job description Job responsibilities
Supervise and support the Care Navigator team to deliver outstanding patient care and administrative supportEnsure adequate staffing levels, providing cross-cover for the other Reception SupervisorOversee appointment scheduling, cancellations, and patient check-in processes with precision and professionalismEnsure all patient records are accurately maintained and confidentiality is upheld at all timesManage incoming calls, inquiries, and correspondence promptly to foster positive relationships with patients and external partnersCoordinate with Clinical team to facilitate smooth clinic operations and address any scheduling conflicts or issuesInduction and training new staff members to the required standard, and provide ongoing support to enhance team performanceBe first to respond to urgent problems (e.g.: telephone/EMIS/IT malfunctions; clinical staff sickness, etc)Help develop policies and procedures with the Operations ManagerAct as a role model for staffEnsure maximum productivity from reception staff ensuring that all reception tasks are carried out in a timely mannerCarry out staff appraisals and performance reviewsEnsure Practice policies are followed and accurate records are keptLiaise with management team concerning staffing and organisation of workLiaise with other member of the Primary Healthcare Team, and outside agenciesAct as Deputy Practice Fire WardenChair reception meetings and take minutesOpen/close practice premises (as part of a rota) in line with Practice policyMonitor reception area for cleanliness, organization, and a welcoming atmosphere
