Job summary
Full time Consultant Psychiatrist.
The post holder will provide psychiatrist outpatient care for adults aged 18-65 in the Wellingborough and East Northants CMHT
Main duties of the job
o Provide clinical leadership to the team and take clinical responsibility for the assessment and treatment of patients as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
o Clinics for assessing new referrals, medication reviews for patients in the team and reviews.
o Supervision of MDT colleagues around cases they are managing
o Oversee the medication and care of patients in the depot and clozapine clinics
o Undertake Mental Health Act assessments on patients from within the sector
o Be the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under a Community Treatment Order

Skills and Abilities Essential
oExcellent written and verbal communication skills oEvidence of the ability to communicate with patients, colleagues and staff at all levels. oAbility to present complex information to a variety of audiences including courts and tribunals oAbility to motivate and develop other medical colleagues and other MDT members oTo balance individual requirements against those of the Directorate and Trust as a whole oAn understanding of the political and financial framework within which the Services operate oAble to meet duties under MHA and MCA oPost holder will need to take initiative and work in a self-directed manner.
