Main duties of the job About the role
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, you will act as the Trust's subject matter expert for Acute and Emergency Service. You will be responsible for day-to-day operational management. The post holder will assist the the Divisional Team in ensuring that the Care Group & Division delivers its financial, activity, patient experience and clinical & quality targets.

About us
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit. A new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity, providing almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.

Senior NHS Management experience In-depth specialist knowledge of elective care, cancer and associated constitutional standard rules gained through extensive experience, Extensive experience in financial, performance and staff management Experience of managing significant improvement projects and service redesign Experience of managing a service with competing stakeholders. Experience of undertaking service planning taking into account finance, manpower, equipment and organisational factors Knowledge of the national and regional health strategies Ability to develop reports within tight deadlines

Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email, and have standard keyboard skills Knowledge of the clinical governance agenda
