About this role

Our firm is built on speed, precision, and results—and that doesn’t stop when a case settles. The final stage of every case is where trust is earned, clients are paid, and revenue is realized.

We’re looking for a Settlement & Subrogation Clerk—someone who thrives on accuracy, moves quickly, and takes full ownership of the disbursement process. This is a high-impact role responsible for turning settlements into fast, clean, and compliant payouts.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare and finalize settlement statements, including attorney fees, costs, liens, and client net recovery. · Request, track, and resolve medical liens and subrogation claims. · Communicate with medical providers, insurers, and lienholders to obtain accurate payoff amounts. · Coordinate and execute client disbursements, ensuring all funds are properly allocated. · Confirm settlement funds are received and cleared prior to payment. · Partner with accounting/trust teams to process payments to clients and third parties. · Clearly explain settlement breakdowns to clients in a professional and understandable manner. · Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation for every file. · Close out cases once all payments and documentation are finalized.

What We’re Looking For

· A detail-obsessed operator with zero tolerance for financial errors. · Strong ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a high-volume environment. · Clear communicator who can confidently work with clients, providers, and internal teams. · High ownership mentality—you take responsibility for getting cases closed cleanly and correctly. · Process-driven mindset with the ability to execute quickly and consistently.

Qualifications

· 2+ years of experience in one of the following:

• Personal injury law firm (settlements, case management, or disbursements)

• Lien resolution / subrogation

• Insurance claims (bodily injury or similar) · Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial information. · Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads and meet deadlines. · Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience preparing settlement statements. · Familiarity with medical liens and subrogation processes. · Experience working with trust accounting or legal financial workflows. · Background in a high-volume personal injury firm.

Why this role?

· Direct impact on firm revenue and cash flow—your work ensures cases close and funds are collected · High ownership role managing the final and most critical stage of the case lifecycle · Fast-paced, execution-focused environment with clear expectations · Opportunity to work closely with legal and finance teams · Be part of a team that values accuracy, speed, and accountability

Compensation & Work Environment

· Competitive base salary ($65,000 – $85,000, depending on experience) · Performance-based bonus tied to accuracy, speed, and volume · Full benefits package (health, PTO, etc.) · Hybrid work environment (in-office onboarding with flexibility after ramp-up) · Collaborative, high-performance team culture

What Success Looks Like

· Settlements are disbursed quickly (typically within 10–20 days) · Settlement statements are consistently 100% accurate · All liens are resolved prior to payment · Files are closed cleanly with complete documentation · Attorneys and paralegals are not pulled into disbursement issues
