Who We Are
Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare exists to empower individuals to live healthy, purpose-filled lives on their terms. We are a non-profit, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic rooted in the heart of northcentral Iowa and everything we do flows from a boundless belief in personal potential.
Our vision is to engage individuals, families, and communities in personalized, whole-self care. We don't treat diagnoses in isolation; we walk alongside people, honoring their dignity and their story, and building care around their strengths and their goals.
Across our region, we offer a continuum of services: outpatient psychiatry and counseling, residential substance use treatment, an Opioid Treatment Program, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, and drop-in centers in two communities. We also bring services directly to rural neighbors through outreach clinics across the region.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a psychiatrist who shares our belief that every person, regardless of circumstance, deserves compassionate, high-quality care and who wants to collaborate with a team that lives that out daily.
In this role, you'll provide outpatient psychiatric care for adults navigating mental health and substance use challenges while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team that includes an on-site psychiatrist, a virtual addiction/family medicine psychiatrist, a family medicine physician, therapists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, service navigators, nurses, and medical assistants. Our team works collaboratively to support our patients and the communities we serve.
This is a primarily weekday outpatient opportunity with no evening, weekend, or on-call responsibilities.
What You'll Do
Empowering Patients Through Expert Care
• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans that honor each patient's autonomy and lived experience, including psychopharmacologic interventions where appropriate.
• Provide ongoing medication management for outpatient and residential substance use patients, attentively monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
• Offer meaningful psychoeducation to patients and families to help them understand their conditions, their options, and the resources available to them.
Resilient, Integrated Teamwork
• Serve as a bridge between medical and behavioral health staff using evidence based trauma-informed care.
• Consult with colleagues, case coordinators, and community partners
• Contribute your expertise to telemedicine policy and best practices, helping us extend care to those who need it.
• Participate, as appropriate to the engagement, in clinical consultation and other collaborative activities that support responsive, high-quality patient care.
Documentation & Accountability
• Maintain complete, accurate records in accordance with professional standards.
• Uphold all HIPAA and 42 CFR regulations governing patient confidentiality.
What You Bring
• M.D. or D.O. with board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry
• Iowa medical licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
• Valid DEA registration and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Confidence using telemedicine platforms to extend care to rural and satellite locations
• A deep, genuine commitment to serving individuals with dignity, respect, and a belief in their potential
