Job Title: Junior Customer Operations Coordinator

Site: Cape Town

Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4.30pm (EU Summer) and 8:30am-5.00pm (EU Winter)

Line Manager: Branch Manager Cape Town office

The purpose of this role is:

To manage all day-to-day operational activities for the European Region. You will ensure that all operational processes meet the established operational KPIs and support smooth, efficient shipping operations across Europe.

What You Will Do: -

Operations & Compliance:

• Responsible for the daily coordination of import and export operations.

• Responsible for customer-dedicated or area packages, including all related transportation activities.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in tracking sheets and internal systems.

• Ensure all relevant documentation and related communication are properly recorded and filed.

Communication & Coordination:

• Respond promptly and professionally to customer, vendor, and internal inquiries.

• Ensure customers are informed in a timely manner of any operational issues affecting their orders.

• Follow up on outstanding issues daily and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner.

Quality & Performance:

• Collaborate with the Team Leader to address operational issues, KPI deviations, and customer complaints.

• Ensure all operational KPIs are met for the relevant customers.

• Review and acknowledge annual goals and KPIs by the end of January each year.

• Proactively communicate any additional costs to customers and ensure these are billed in a timely manner, for both imports and exports.

• Maintain a strong focus on accurate additional cost billing, in line with the applicable Standard Cost agreements.

Team Collaboration:

• Provide backup support to team members during periods of absence, such as vacation or illness, to ensure continuity of operations and service.

What You Will Bring: -

• Prior experience in international transportation or the logistics industry

• Working knowledge of ADR and IMDG regulations

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

• Strong IT, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Experience using Microsoft Office.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Confident communication with customers and vendors.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively follow up on outstanding tasks.

• A strong team ethic and alignment with the company’s values, demonstrating professionalism, reliability and a positive attitude
