ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC)
Established in 1984 to manage the settlement outlined in the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA), Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) represents the collective interests of Inuvialuit. IRC’s goal is to continually improve the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of the Inuvialuit through implementation of the IFA and by all other available means. Through strong partnerships and community‑driven programs, the organization supports economic growth, cultural preservation and opportunities for current and future generations.
Inuvialuit beneficiaries directly control IRC and its subsidiaries through a democratic process of elected directors from each of the six community corporations with chairs at the IRC Board, a process originally outlined in the IFA.
JOB SUMMARY
The Commercial Fisheries Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and development of commercial fisheries activities within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. The position works closely with harvesters, community organizations, regulatory agencies, and industry partners to promote sustainable fisheries, enhance economic opportunities, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and licensing requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
• Diploma or degree in Fisheries Management, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, Economic Development, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience in commercial fisheries, natural resource management, economic development, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience coordinating projects, programs, community initiatives, or field operations.
