Job Summary
Full Circle Recruiting is seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator for an immediate opportunity in Conroe, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
This position is responsible for fitting, assembling, and welding metal components according to engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and production specifications. Candidates must be capable of producing consistent, high-quality welds while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform MIG and TIG welding on metal components and fabricated assemblies.
• Set up and adjust welding machines based on material type, thickness, and welding requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
• Fit, align, tack, and weld components according to specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform welding in various positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead as required.
• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, beveling, and fitting components prior to welding.
• Inspect completed welds for defects, proper penetration, dimensions, and overall workmanship.
• Use measuring equipment such as tape measures, squares, calipers, and gauges to verify finished parts.
• Operate grinders, cutting equipment, torches, and other fabrication tools.
• Identify welding or fabrication defects and perform rework when necessary.
• Follow production drawings, job travelers, work orders, and quality requirements.
• Maintain welding equipment and report equipment problems or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Work closely with production, fabrication, quality, and supervisory personnel to meet production schedules.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of professional welding experience – REQUIRED.
• Strong hands-on experience with MIG welding.
• TIG welding experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, joint preparation, fit-up, and metal fabrication.
• Ability to properly set welding parameters for different materials and thicknesses.
• Experience using grinders, saws, torches, clamps, fixtures, and other fabrication equipment.
• Ability to use standard measuring and inspection tools.
• Ability to identify weld defects and determine when rework is required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be dependable and able to work effectively in a production environment.
• Must follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
Preferred Qualifications
• Welding certification or technical/vocational welding training.
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and/or aluminum.
• Experience with both MIG and TIG welding.
• Knowledge of AWS welding standards and symbols.
• Previous experience in custom metal fabrication or industrial equipment manufacturing.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and work in various welding positions.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials and components as required.
• Comfortable working around welding equipment, machinery, heat, sparks, fumes, and typical manufacturing noise.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced, safety-conscious welder who takes pride in producing clean, strong, accurate welds. We are looking for someone who can read a print, properly fit and prepare material, set up their welding equipment, complete the weld, and inspect their own work with minimal supervision.
