Position Summary
The Operations Manager oversees student transportation services, including vendor management, routing, scheduling, data management, family communication, and transportation-related concerns. This position develops and maintains effective systems and procedures, proactively identifies and resolves operational challenges, and works collaboratively with school and organizational leaders to support a positive experience for students, families, and staff.
Position Responsibilities
Student Transportation
• Manage student transportation vendors and monitor performance to ensure safe, reliable, efficient, and responsive transportation services.
• Build and maintain positive, service-oriented relationships with students, families, school staff, transportation providers, and partner schools.
• Coordinate student transportation services, including routing, scheduling, service changes, and transportation needs related to school programming.
• Maintain accurate student transportation data within the student information system and other applicable systems.
• Communicate timely and accurate transportation information, updates, delays, and service changes to families and staff.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation-related questions, concerns, and problem-solving.
• Partner with school leaders and transportation providers to address student behavior and discipline concerns occurring on school transportation.
• Monitor transportation services and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, communication, and the student and family experience.
• Maintain appropriate transportation records, reports, and documentation.
• Review transportation data and vendor performance to identify trends, resolve recurring concerns, and recommend improvements.
• Support the development and implementation of transportation procedures and expectations for students, families, and staff.
• Ensure transportation practices are consistent with Crossroads Charter Schools policies, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
Operations & Organizational Support
• Develop, implement, and maintain effective systems and procedures that support efficient organizational operations.
• Collaborate with school and organizational leaders to identify operational needs, solve problems, and improve systems and processes.
• Coordinate assigned projects and initiatives from planning through implementation, ensuring appropriate communication and follow-through.
• Manage relationships with assigned vendors and service providers, including monitoring service quality, addressing concerns, and supporting contract compliance.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, documentation, and data related to assigned operational responsibilities.
• Support the development, implementation, and communication of organizational procedures.
• Proactively identify operational challenges and recommend practical, sustainable solutions.
• Respond to operational needs with urgency, sound judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to excellent service.
• Support organizational and school-based events, initiatives, and special projects as assigned.
• Serve as a resource to staff and school leaders regarding assigned operational systems, procedures, and services.
Leadership & Professional Responsibilities
• Collaborate with school and organizational leadership to address operational needs, solve problems, and improve organizational effectiveness.
• Build positive, productive relationships with students, families, staff, vendors, and community partners through responsive and solutions-oriented service.

• Participate in required meetings and professional development and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant professional experience in school operations, transportation, logistics, project management, or a related field may be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, systems, projects, and multiple priorities while maintaining strong organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build relationships and navigate challenging situations with professionalism and sound judgment.
• Ability to analyze data, develop effective processes, maintain confidentiality, and respond effectively to changing or time-sensitive operational needs.
• Strong work ethic, flexibility, commitment to professional growth, and ability to successfully complete all required background checks and employment requirements.
• Understanding and ability to utilize student information system, specifically Infinite Campus
Salary range starting at $68,826
