Job Summary: This Pediatric Physiotherapist position is the School-Based Position. • This is the physiotherapist for School District 79. • Assesses and evaluates clients’ physical abilities using functional ability testing, other tests and procedures, observation, and physician referral notes, • Plans and develops programs of physiotherapy derived from the assessment process. Makes program adjustments based on client progress, • Prepares and maintains clinical and statistical records. Confers with other health care professionals to ensure coordinated and consistent client therapies • Implements physiotherapy programs such as motor learning, balance and coordination, gait training, exercise programs and prescription of adapted equipment. • Uses a combination of supplemental home/work exercise regimes, electro/hydro-therapeutic and other mechanical equipment in individual and group settings
Education, Training and Experience
• Master’s degree in physical therapy
• Must be registered and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC
• 2 years’ experience in a clinical setting as a physical therapist; prefer experience working with pediatrics clients with complex medical conditions
Qualifications: Skills and Abilities
• Knowledgeable about the principles of family centered practice
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Experience with a data management system
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team whose members have diverse backgrounds
• Ability to maintain current on best practice information

• The successful candidate will begin employment at the Clements Building, days to be determined
• This position will require a valid B.C. Driver’s License and use of personal vehicle for transportation
• This position is open to all qualified individuals and requires Union membership
• This position will remain open until a qualified candidate is found
$46.05 - $56.03 per hour (BCGEU 16-P-PT grid)
