About this role

Position Summary: The Communications Assistant provides administrative support to the communications team. This person will assist in the creation and implementation of social media content, graphic design work, and printed material for many different departments.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

• Agree to ACC doctrinal distinctive and vision as found in our What We Believe/Vision statement

• Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in the Scriptures

• A high school diploma is required; some college preferred

• Working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

• Ability to work well in a team

• Strong organization skills and high attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent time management and prioritization skills

• Ability to receive constructive feedback

• Candidate must possess a heart for serving the church

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Possess a creative, imaginative aptitude, an awareness of current visual arts trends, and the ability to implement them in photography as needed

• Create clear and compelling copy content through digital and print mediums

• Draft and edit communications copy

• Source marketing and social media content

• Collaborate with various departments to understand project requests and vision

• Prepare presentations and reports

• Prepare printed and digital material for other departments (including fliers, signage, keynote slides, etc.)

• Assist with administrative and special service tasks, as assigned by the Communications Manager

• Work closely with Project Managers to coordinate vendor pickups and communicates clearly with staff regarding the delivery of product

• Assists with website and app needs (including updating Watch Parties and small groups, managing events and making small edits)

• Leads the Photography Volunteer Team by taking photos at services, events and other Communications related needs. Schedules, coordinates and trains volunteers. Keeps training materials updated.
