This dual-role position combines woodworking skills for crate construction with industrial painting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable building protective wooden shipping crates while also preparing, painting, and finishing metal surfaces using a variety of techniques and equipment within a controlled environment. You'll ensure our products are properly finished and safely transported to customers, while meeting our high-quality standards and following all safety and company guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Wooden Crate Construction:
• Build custom wooden shipping crates designed to protect various machine types during transport.
• Measure and cut lumber according to specifications for each product.
• Assemble crates using appropriate fasteners, reinforcements, and bracing.
• Install proper cushioning, foam, or other protective materials inside crates.
• Ensure crates meet shipping regulations and provide adequate protection.
Industrial Painting:
• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and masking.
• Board and mask material.
• Operate and maintain paint booths and related equipment.
• Apply primers, basecoats, and topcoats using spray guns or other methods.
• Inspect painted surfaces for quality and consistency.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Performs additional tasks and responsibilities, as needed, to support team and business objectives.
Qualifications:
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• 1 year of experience in woodworking, carpentry, or crate building, and industrial painting applications
• Must be able to wear a respirator for the entire shift
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and may occasionally lift over 50 lbs., where employee assistance is required.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to do basic computer tasks.
• Practice 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe work environment.
