Occupational Health Technician Grade 4 (£31,537 - £33,699 per annum pro rata) Part Time - 30 hours per week – Expected working pattern: Monday to Thursday Permanent Joint Headquarters, Sherwood Lodge, Arnold, Nottingham, NG5 8PP

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a motivated and organised Occupational Health Technician to join our Occupational Health team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the health, wellbeing and fitness of our employees, helping to ensure our workforce remains fit, healthy and able to carry out their important duties safely. Working closely with the Occupational Health and Fitness Manager, you will assist in delivering a comprehensive occupational health service across the organisation. The role involves carrying out health surveillance and screening activities, maintaining accurate health records, supporting wellbeing initiatives and providing high-quality administrative support to the department.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver health surveillance programmes, including audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, cholesterol and blood glucose testing.Carry out routine health assessments including blood pressure monitoring, height and waist measurements and urinalysis.Conduct face fit testing in line with organisational requirements.Undertake pre-employment health screening and substance misuse testing for prospective employees.Prepare and maintain occupational health records and test results, ensuring compliance with GDPR, medical confidentiality and departmental procedures.Assist in the planning and delivery of health promotion and wellbeing initiatives across the Service.Manage appointments, respond to routine enquiries and provide administrative support to the Occupational Health team.Input and analyse data using occupational health systems and produce reports as required.Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control procedures, including the safe handling and disposal of clinical waste.Promote the values, behaviours and ethical standards of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, including the National Fire and Rescue Service Core Code of Ethics. Experience/Qualification

Recognised Occupational Health Technician qualification, or equivalent experience of working within an occupational health environment.Evidence of training in the operation of health surveillance equipmentExperience of conducting health assessments and advising on outcomes.Experience of health promotion and education activities, for example blood pressure checks, BMI assessments and mental health support.General administrative experience, including dealing with telephone calls and diary management.Experience of using computer systems for record keeping.
