Key Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the role will be supporting the Data Analyst and IT Support Officer in all aspects of installing and configurating computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and application problems, either over the phone or in person. You'll cover one or more areas of expertise by assisting in the production of deliverables for our client's Operations across UK and Ireland, ensuring controls are enforced across the business.
Provide an end-to-end excellent fleet service to the business ensuring that transactional fleet activities are carried out with the agreed KPI's and that a consistent approach is delivered whilst maintaining operational excellence in the most efficient way.
Key Duties
The tasks will be varied and include:
Provide first-line support to users across the business.Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.Assist with setting up new equipment and user accounts.Monitor and maintain IT systems and networks.Learn how to document processes and update helpdesk tickets.Get involved with IT projects and rollouts.Helping to create manuals on accessing servers, logging in to private business networks or using a new software package.Providing a record of any support calls.Log all repairs to hardware.Creating an adequate supply of IT-related stock for a business, such as cables, routers, adapters and any other equipment necessary for the functioning of their systems. Knowledge and Skills Required
Essential Skills:
A genuine interest in IT and problem-solving.Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.Good time management and willingness to learn.PC literate with excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret raw data and translate it into clear, concise information.Experience of communicating IT information to individuals and ability to think long term.Educated to GSCE level including Mathematics and English (or equivalent).Ability to apply knowledge and creativity to resolve complex issues.Demonstrate a highly organised, systematic and forward-looking approach to undertaking key priorities.Strong communication and presentation skills.The confidence to challenge current practices and initiate new ones to improve efficiency. Desirable Skills:
A structured apprenticeship qualification (e.g. Level 3 IT Support Technician).Practical IT support skills on the job.Industry tools, software, and troubleshooting techniques.Computer security.Ability to use own initiative and see the bigger picture.A keen interest in IT.
