Occupational Therapist PerDiem
Job Posting Description: The Occupational Therapist provides evaluation, treatment, education, and consultation services primarily to pediatric patients and, as needed, adult patients. The Occupational Therapist develops and implements individualized plans of care to promote functional independence and participation, working collaboratively with patients, families, caregivers, educators, and interdisciplinary care teams. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Evaluates patients to determine functional status and therapy needs and develops and implements individualized occupational therapy plans of care based on clinical findings, developmental and medical history, and patient and family goals.
• Provides occupational therapy interventions, including therapeutic activities, home programs, environmental adaptations, and recommendations for assistive devices and equipment; educates patients, caregivers, educators, and support personnel to promote carryover of therapeutic strategies.
• Monitors and documents patient progress, adjusts treatment plans as appropriate, and collaborates with caregivers, interdisciplinary team members, educators, and outside providers to support coordinated care and discharge planning.
• Maintains clinical documentation and practices in accordance with departmental requirements, the AOTA Code of Ethics, and applicable hospital, professional, and regulatory standards.
• Contributes to departmental operations and quality initiatives, maintains professional competency, and may provide supervision to occupational therapy support personnel and students. Work assignments and schedules may vary based on departmental needs.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Pediatric occupational therapy experience preferred; new graduates with Level II pediatric clinical experience are encouraged to apply.
