Advanced Practice Provider
Position Description: Employees in this position are responsible for augmenting a supervising physician's data gathering abilities to reach decisions and institute patient care plans. Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of a Physician.

Additionally, this position is not eligible for remote or hybrid opportunities. All work is required to be performed onsite at TTEP.
Major/Essential Functions: • Provide clinical support to physician. • Assess, plan implement and evaluate clinical needs of patients. • Assist with consults and admissions. • Assist with rounds (writing notes, order and wound care, etc..). • Write discharge orders and dictate discharge notes. • Provide inpatient and outpatient care. Provide wide variety of surgical procedure. • Collaborate and serve as liaison between providers, consultants and medical staff. • Participate in outreach and educational events. • Remains current with all licensures, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position. • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). • Personally, and consistently, demonstrate, display and act in accordance with Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution. • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications: • General knowledge and skills necessary to assist supervising surgeon. • Works under general supervision with board latitude for initiative and independent judgement.
Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. Required Qualifications: • Graduation for a Physician Assistant's training program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association. • Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Texas or ability to transfer licensee to Texas. • Certification as a Physician Assistant as evidenced by passing the examinations given by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. OR Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a nurse practitioner from an approved certification program recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing. • Current R.N. license as approved by the Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer license to Texas. • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an approved certification program as recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer certification to Texas.
