The Technical Trainer IV – IPC Trainer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering IPC certification and technical training programs that support manufacturing operations and workforce development. This position serves as a technical subject matter expert for IPC standards, providing classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory training, certification testing, technical guidance, and mentoring to employees across multiple manufacturing disciplines.
Working closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Operations leadership, the Technical Trainer IV ensures consistent application of IPC workmanship standards, maintains training compliance, and supports the development of employee technical capability. The position also contributes to the continuous improvement of training programs, instructional materials, technical evaluation methods, and governance processes while supporting organizational initiatives that strengthen workforce capability and operational excellence.Primary Responsibilities & Expectations
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver instructor-led IPC certification and recertification courses. • Facilitate classroom instruction, practical laboratory exercises, and hands-on technical demonstrations. • Administer written examinations and practical evaluations in accordance with applicable IPC certification requirements. • Serve as a technical subject matter expert, providing guidance on IPC standards, workmanship requirements, and product acceptability. • Mentor and coach employees to improve technical competency and support long-term workforce development. • Maintain training records, certification documentation, and learning management system requirements. • Develop, revise, and maintain standardized training materials, instructional resources, and laboratory exercises. • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to identify training needs and support technical problem-solving initiatives. • Support implementation of standardized training processes, governance initiatives, and organizational capability improvements. • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance training effectiveness, workforce capability, and operational performance. • Maintain current IPC certifications and remain knowledgeable of industry standards, revisions, and emerging best practices. • Perform other duties as assigned. Full-time onsite: • Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Skills and Education: • High school diploma or equivalent • 5+ years of hands-on experience performing Class 3 electronic assembly, soldering, inspection, rework, or related manufacturing activities in accordance with applicable IPC standards • Current IPC Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) certification(s) applicable to assigned responsibilities, or the ability to obtain required certification(s) within an established timeframe • Experience providing technical instruction, mentoring, coaching, or facilitating technical training for adult learners • Willingness and ability to travel as required to support business and training needs (anticipated minimum travel of one trip every two years). • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) within a professional manufacturing or high-technology environment • Experience maintaining technical documentation, training records, manufacturing documentation, or similar controlled records
Preferred Skills and Education: • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Education, Organizational Development, or a related technical discipline • 5+ years of experience as a technical instructor administering or supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS) and electronic training record management systems • Multiple active IPC Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) certifications across applicable IPC standards • Experience supporting Class 3 high-reliability manufacturing within the aerospace, defense, medical, or other highly regulated industries • Experience performing technical evaluations, competency assessments, or practical skills validations • Experience utilizing Microsoft SharePoint, Power BI, Tableau, or other business reporting and collaboration tools • Experience supporting enterprise training standardization, governance, workforce capability, or organizational development initiatives • Demonstrated leadership through mentoring, coaching, or development of technical personnel • Strong presentation and facilitation skills in both classroom and hands-on laboratory environments • Ability to influence and build collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams without direct supervisory authority • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning and professional development
