Job Description: The BAE Systems site in York, Pennsylvania supporting Combat Mission Systems is seeking an experienced VT Level II Quality Inspector: Visual Weld Inspection for the 3rd Shift. (See shift hour notes below.)

In this role as a VT Level II Quality Inspector: Visual Weld Inspection, you will perform quality audits for conformance to drawings/specification on large structures, weldments, assemblies, and individual components, manufactured internally or procured from suppliers. Verifications include but are not limited to: visual weld and dimensional inspection, color conformance, plating, paint quality, damage, completeness of assemblies/ weldments and kits, etc. Verifications may be visual or tactile and may require use of standard precision measuring equipment. You will be responsible in determining appropriate accept/reject dispositions and document results within required BAE Systems repositories.

As a VT Level II Quality Inspector: Visual Weld Inspection, you will have previous certifications in accordance with the requirements of SNT-TC-1A and having met the minimum requirements for documented classroom training.

Hourly rate per the CBA for the QIVI position, effective September 20, 2026, is $35.59 with a shift differential of $1.25.

Position supports Sunday-Thursday, 3rd Shift 10:00pm - 6:00am. The shift is 8 hours with two 10 minute breaks and a 20 minute paid lunch.

Required Skills and Education: • Typically requires a High School diploma or the overall equivalent. • Have held a VT Level II certification per SNT-TC-1A or equivalent. • Documented Visual Inspection experience hours in welding / fabrication. • Documented Visual Inspection classroom training for Level II VT per SNT-TC-1A or equivalent. • Ability to read and comprehend technical documents (i.e. drawings, specifications). • Capable of interpreting dimensional drawing requirements, weld symbols, and understanding Process Work Instruction (PWI) requirements. • Capable of performing dimensional and Visual Weld inspections. • Understands and can use the imperial measurement and the metric system, conversions, fractions and decimal equivalents. • Basic computer literacy to include data entry skills and familiarity with standard MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). • Physically able to access vehicles in order to obtain inspection data. This includes both fitness to climb in and around vehicles and regularly required vision screening for compliance with maintaining VT certification. May require bending, stooping, crawling, reaching, awkward positioning and lifting up to 40 lbs, unassisted. • Must have the ability to pass BAE System's VT Level Il examination. • Able to support on the 3rd Shift.

Preferred Skills and Education: • Weld inspection tools and gauges such as weld fillet gauges, V-Wac gauges. • Standard measuring equipment such as 6” rule, tape measure and combination squares. • Precision measurement equipment such as calipers (both vernier and digital), height gauges, surface plates, protractors, gauge blocks/pins, micrometers, depth gauges, thread gauges, plain plugs and ring. • gauges, profilometers, graduated and digital measuring device. • Material handling equipment such as jacks, hand trucks, jib cranes, etc.
