About this role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Gearbox Technician to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for the assembly, servicing, and repair of Formula One transmission systems within the Build Department. Working closely with the Race Team, Car Assembly, Production, and Quality groups, you will ensure gearbox assemblies are delivered to the highest technical standards and within tight performance-driven timelines. Assemble, service, and repair transmission and gearbox components in line with detailed technical specifications, ensuring high standards of precision, reliability, and build quality. Accurately complete and maintain all build documentation and component records to ensure full traceability and support engineering analysis. Ensure all gearbox assemblies meet strict performance, reliability, and delivery targets while adhering to established procedures and deadlines. Provide support to the Race Team, development programmes, and future vehicle projects, assisting with the preparation, maintenance, and optimisation of gearbox systems. Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and build instructions to ensure correct assembly and adherence to required tolerances and standards. Contribute to continuous improvement within the gearbox department by identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and build practices. Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment in line with company procedures and Health & Safety standards. Support dyno testing, track testing, and race events when required, assisting with the preparation and operation of gearbox systems. Communicate technical issues clearly through the appropriate channels to ensure timely resolution. Assist in training and mentoring new team members while supporting the development of team capability. Provide support to other assembly departments and assist with the maintenance of workshop rigs, tools, and equipment as required. When attending track tests and race events, operate in a self-sufficient manner while managing gearbox stock, spares, and equipment. Prioritise and manage workloads in line with event requirements, working closely with engineers and the wider race team to ensure efficient gearbox preparation, servicing, and repairs.
