The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is a people focused, award-winning, full-service consulting firm that offers a wide array of services including civil and geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, planning, landscape architecture, agriculture, surveying and construction support. Our talented staff of more than 650+ professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions. Design Your Future We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer with 2–5 years of experience who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to meaningful projects as part of our MEP team . In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, architects, and designers to help bring building systems to life—from early concepts through construction. You'll contribute to the design of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems while gaining hands-on experience across a variety of projects. We're committed to investing in your future from day one. That's why this role comes with a guaranteed seat in Blueprint , our new early career leadership program for engineers looking to grow beyond the typical entry-level experience. Over six months, you'll take part in a hands-on curriculum covering professional development, business acumen, and project delivery — including case studies, simulations, and role-play exercises — covering topics like project economics, communication, and leadership fundamentals. It all wraps up with an in-person capstone event where you'll present your work and map out your goals for the year ahead. Your Future Starts With A Plan. Assist in the design, layout, and modeling of mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronic systems, natural gas distribution and domestic plumbing. Develop construction drawings, specifications, sequence of operations and technical documentation using REVIT and/or AutoCAD and other industry tools. Perform engineering calculations, load calculations, and system sizing under supervision of senior staff. Collaborate with internal team members and external stakeholders (architects, contractors, clients). Conduct site visits, field verification, and assist with project assessments when needed. Support the preparation of cost estimates, reports, and project deliverables. Basic experience researching and applying relevant building codes, standards, and best practices (ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, State codes, etc.). Participate in project coordination meetings and contribute to design discussions.
