About this role

As part of Centellic’s global newsroom, the business of law team is focused on covering the news, trends and issues involving the largest law firms in the world. We’re focused on delivering breaking news, analysis and features about issues that impact large and midsize law firms’ business, such as mergers, staffing concerns, geographic expansion, management and compensation. In the last five years, Miami has become one of the U.S.’s hottest legal markets, as many of the country’s largest law firms have followed the private equity, finance and technology clients that have recently relocated to South Florida. You’ll be writing about this vibrant beat primarily for our Florida publication the Daily Business Review, but also contributing to The American Lawyer, Pro Mid Market, and our other brands. • Break news and deliver exclusives on the world’s largest law firms and the business forces shaping them. • Build and maintain a strong network of sources across law firms, legal industry consultants, recruiters, and other market insiders. • Cover key developments including leadership changes, law firm finances, compensation, hiring, mergers, strategy, and client trends. • Use data to identify story ideas, support reporting, and add depth to coverage. • Analyze datasets related to law firm performance, headcount, revenue, profitability, expansion, and market trends. • Create or collaborate on charts, graphics, and other visual storytelling elements that help readers understand the story quickly. • Produce a mix of breaking news, enterprise, analysis, and feature stories. • Work closely with editors and colleagues across the newsroom to shape coverage that is authoritative, competitive, and distinctive.
