About this role
Your Mission As Land and Origination Lead, you will be responsible for securing all land agreements necessary to deliver Field's extensive portfolio of development and pre-construction battery projects, as well as originating new opportunities for novel technologies. This is a highly autonomous role that will call on a wide skillset - you'll need to balance strategic thinking, commercial acumen, operational rigour, landowner negotiation skills and team leadership. If you're looking for an exciting role, working on real projects across a secured portfolio, th What you’ll be doing Team leadership Leading and managing a direct report, taking responsibility for the team's overall delivery against targets; and Budget management, KPI monitoring and reporting. Strategic input on novel technologies, including: Scanning the development landscape to spot opportunities for what to develop next; Working autonomously to identify the commercial and land-related implications of novel and emerging technologies; and Assessing site and land suitability requirements specific to new technology types, and advising the wider business accordingly. Site identification and lead generation, including: Using up to date market knowledge to identify potential new development opportunities; Keeping abreast of developments in the transmission grid and connections application process to propose the best areas to try and secure a grid connection; Using detailed knowledge of planning, environmental and physical constraints to complete thorough site suitability and commercial viability assessments; and Applying land expertise to structure, negotiate and close land agreements. Landowner engagement, including: Applying strong communication skills to build relationships and negotiate with landowners, agents and solicitors; Demonstrating a deep understanding of the needs, concerns and priorities of landowners and their agents; and Actively fostering a wide network of external industry contacts, ensuring Field's reputation reflects positively across the market. Securing and closing land deals, including: Leading complex negotiations and using commercial clauses to protect Field from a property and project delivery perspective; Optimising contract terms and conditions to align with legal obligations, industry standards and company goals; Taking personal ownership of closing third party agreements — land options, easements, servitudes and other commercial arrangements — to keep projects moving into delivery; and Working autonomously to identify and resolve obstacles that could delay deal completion.
